Cushing and IronDog, I absolutely agree that Beckham is the superior option at short. All I meant was that he indirectly could solve a lot of their problems at once on the trade market (not that I advocate actively shopping him). Adding Wood is an intriguing idea although with Figgins departing, Wood’s time with the Angels may have arrived.

Lara – I’m sure Kenny Williams will keep that in mind.

I hear ya’ on thinking out of the box, but would you trade Beckham and two minor leaguers for a signed Chone Figgins or a Jimmy Rollins? That’s probably what the Sox could get. With that said, a hold would play better. Beckham is going to be a beast. Can we get him to switch back to short and push Ramirez back to second and find a real corner?
