Pettitte is the guy I always compare him to as well. Crafty southpaw, good move to first, not an ace but definitely a guy that will come through when you need him to. B2theD has it right. Mark is not really an ace, and neither was Andy. But both have made their mark (no pun intended) as great stoppers of the past 10-15 years and through a lot of the same ways. And if I were a manager filling out his roster for a playoff series or a world series, I would take either of them at the height of their careers in a heartbeat.

I agree with both the above comments. Buehrle deserves it, the White Sox deserve it. I hope they go far next year! Go White Sox!

Raymond you are a retard. He is clearly a good pitcher, but he was barely even a #1 on our beloved team. I love Buehrle, but he is no Ace; even though he was our Ace for a time.

I'm so happy for him winning this. It about time someone on our team did, and he really deserves it. He plays the game the right way, is a joy to watch and a great addition that any team would love to have.

Mark Buehrle's not a great pitcher? Really? Perfecto ring a bell? No-hitter? World Series win and save? 200 IP every year? 4 ASG's? Sub-4.00 career ERA?

I guess it's true what they say: any know-nothing jackass can write about sports on the internet. Just because he's not flashy doesn't mean he's not one of the best. I expected better of a self-described "Sox fan."
