When one really thinks about it, Ventura had a great career. It seems he's kind of been forgotten, probably because he's never been in the news for doing something stupid. I love Joe Crede, but Robin Ventura is the greatest White Sox third baseman of all time.

always wondered what he was thinking when he charged the mound like that. robin, you don't mess with a cowboy, especially not an old cowboy! he's from texas, man, they're allowed to carry concealed weapons and drink beer while they drive. you wanna fight someone who spent 40 years living in that type of environment?

It surprises me that Rockin' Robin was only a .267 hitter, because every time I looked up he was driving home a clutch RBI or hitting a grand slam. Where good players get hits, Robin Ventura gets important hits!

Let us not forget the staggering amount of Grand Slams the man had (18), 4th all time. Olympic Gold Medalist. College Baseball Hall of Famer. While I understand the last two do not support an MLB hall bid, it adds to a full-career in baseball.
