For the Trib or the NYT, the club is an asset and something shareholders hold them responsible for. For the Steinbrenner's or Reinsdorf or whoever, it's just them making the gamble and they have the latitude to act quickly, rather than tie the team's operations to how some other business owned by the same parent company is doing.
