If anything, he will pick up a thing or two. There is a WBC pitching coach and other good pitchers going. Who's to say Thornton doesn't pick up some tips to better himself? Getting asked to play for this is a big deal, and Thornton deserves to get respect and a chance to play because he has earned it.
