The Chicago White Sox broadcasters have a combined 211 home runs and amassed a 137-136 record while striking out 1,460 batters. Yet for all those decades of wacky golf outings and cool things about Yaz, only three times have Sox broadcasters crossed paths on the ballfield:

August 14, 1979: Al Bumbry laces an 11th inning single off of Sox reliever Ed Farmer to score Pat Kelly from third. Orioles starter Steve Stone limits the Sox’ nine hits to a mere one run in ten innings of work. Orioles 2, White Sox 1

August 26, 1979: O’s starter Steve Stone gives up a solo homer to Sox 2B Jim Morrison with the first pitch of the game; Sox reliever Ed Farmer gives up a solo homer to O’s LF Greg Roenicke on the first pitch of the 13th inning. Orioles 4, White Sox 3

April 23, 1981: The most average game of all-time features six innings from O’s starter Steve Stone and a 2.1-inning save from Sox closer Ed Farmer. Stone retired after the season, thus ending the storied Farmer-Stone pitching rivalry the way it began. White Sox 5, Orioles 3
